Painting my own kitchen

Due to finding myself in lockdown again I decided it was a good opportunity to carry out the re-painting of our own kitchen. This has been in the planning stages for quite some time, we had planned on replacing the worktops but my fitter couldn’t manage to carry this out pre Christmas and since then we’ve been unable to obtain new ones.

Once prepared they were coated with a specialist primer then base coated to accept coloured glaze to create a faux marble effect, this was then coated with clear varnish. The cabinets are finished in custom colours I mixed myself. I used Farrow & Ball acrylic gloss, I was fairly impressed with the sheen level considering it’s a water based paint. The walls are finished in Farrow & Ball ’stiffkey blue’.
