This kitchen was a bespoke build for a beautiful house in the Newington area of Edinburgh. It was designed and built by an Edinburgh based company. This was a major refurbishment of the unused basement area to create a stunning kitchen for this young family. I was commissioned to hand paint the new cabinetry, the base coats were applied off …
We transformed this vinyl wrap kitchen into something much more elegant and classy. It was finished with Tikkurila Helmi 10 matched to Farrow&ball ‘Cromarty’ The transformed kitchen – after Before – the vinyl wrap kitchen
We don’t just paint kitchens! I was asked to paint these oriental style cabinets for a client. They chose black and I think it suits the cabinets really well. I finished them with Helmi 30 (all brush finished not sprayed). It was a nice change from painting kitchens.
Here’s some photos from a couple of kitchens I hand painted this month. The first is a kitchen I painted a few years ago. The house was recently sold and the new owner changed the layout slightly and added some additional cabinets. I was called in to paint the new cabinets to match the existing. The colour is ‘Hicks Blue’ …
Two wooden kitchens bite the dust! This month I finished two kitchens using Tikkurila Helmi 30 – a lovely rich white. Tikkurila are a Nordic company who develop high quality sustainable paints. The rooms were considerably lighter and brighter after their makeover!
Happy Christmas and New Year to all my clients, and here’s to a more peaceful 2021.

Quite a different style of kitchen to my usual jobs, a real transformation on this one. The colours are a match to ‘Purbeck Stone’ & ‘Railings’ from Farrow & Ball. New brass handles were also fitted.
I was in Edinburgh this week, working locally for the first time in a while. My clients wanted to keep some of the wood in their kitchen, but also wanted to brighten the room up. I suggested painting the ceiling, doors and drawer fronts, which really transformed the room. Here are some before and after photos.
This was a perfectly good solid limed oak kitchen in need of new life. The doors were removed, completely sanded down then painted in ‘Tikkurila Helmi 10’ mixed with ‘Farrow & Ball’ railings. New handles were fitted to complete the new look. My client is delighted with the result. A complete transformation in one week.
Stunning handpainted Edinburgh kitchen.
Sometimes the fact I need to travel over an hour each day to work is a privilege when the view from your workplace is like this. This 7 year old kitchen was in reasonably good condition, although the colour was no longer to my clients taste. All the ironmongery was removed and cleaned of any previous paint. The previous paint …
